Looks like I’m the turtle, not the hare in this race. But I am learning some important things about myself through this process.
Sunday after church, we packed the family up and drove to my folks house in Vacaville. I discovered if it feels like vacation, then I should be able to eat like it’s vacation. What’s the deal? As long as my routine is set and structured I can stay on plan, but as soon as there’s schedule or routine an interruption, then I’m justified in interrupting my discipline too? I don’t get me.
I need to figure this thing out. Suggestions?
Oh, and we had an absolutely fantastic time at the folks house. Saw my siblings and little cousins. I love my family. They’re awesome.

Hey bro. Speaking for myself, the key to changing diet is to really change the way I think about food. It’s got to be a fundamental shift in how you see nutrition, rather than a temporary plan or “diet” to meet a goal. There’s a book called Body for Life by Bill Philips that pretty much changed my whole attitude toward fitness and nutrition.

Why didn’t you tell me you were going to be in Vacaville, I would have stopped by.

It was a last minute thing. Sorry man. We’re planning on trying to do it monthly or close too so my folks can see the boy more often. He’s growing fast.
I’ll give you a call next time we’re coming up! By the way, heard about the big changes in your world. I’m excited for you!
