So after the Mike Huckabee/Chuck Norris add, I was intrigued by all of the Chuck Norrisisms out there. So, here’s a summary of some of the best “Chuck Norris Facts” out there as read by the man himself. For those of you not interested in all of this hoo-hah I appologize. For the rest of you, enjoy.
I’m pretty reluctant to show any add or write any of my political views on this blog because I’m not looking to swing votes for an election with my position, I’m looking to point people to Jesus. So even though I keep up with political stuff I’ve kept my mouth pretty shut until I saw this.
Dana invited me to go to the Fresno Rescue Mission Christmas party. It’s a party that Dana’s wife, Michelle and Vira Matthews throw for the families that are staying there during Christmas.
It was awesome! Alan Yerxa played some guitar while Dana rocked the Djembe doing Chirstmas carols, Santa came in, corny jokes and all, and Michelle and Vira had raised money and shopped to get a ton of gifts for the families.
It was so neat just to be able to sit there and watch how excited these kids were to sing, meet Santa and get presents. Michelle and Vira did an amazing job and the punch I brought wasn’t too bad either if I say so myself.
What a great way to be reminded of what Christmas is really about.
So David Wright has challenged me and two other dudes to a weight loss challenge. The goal; who can lose the most weight by March 1st. I’ve been kinda taking it slow the last two weeks with Christmas services and the stress of the job, but no more. It’s throw down time. Here’s what I think of Dave Wright and his challenge.
So today is National Blog Lurkers come out of the closet day. Granted that since I have not posted in a while and that I have now moved this blog around so much that there are probably two of you who read this (thanks Micah and Dana). Still, if you are a lurker. This week is your time to come out of the shadows, even if it’s just to say hi.
Jenn and I have spent much of the last couple of years telling both of our families (and anyone else who would listen) about the joys of being a Mac user. We have made great strides in our attempts to bring the people we care about over from the dark side, in we have had a lot of success. First, Jenn’s parents made the switch, then my sister and recently, my brother.
The one hold out has been my dad. Pops is a “you can get a great computer for $300″ kind of guy and as it has been his hobby to work on PCs for the last several years, he’s been slow to see the light.
Not anymore though! Larry Haugen is now the proud ownder of an iMac. He’s chatting, mailing, iphotoing and so much more. To share the joy, we all hopped on iChat last night and had, what is sure to be the first of many family get-togethers.
My name is Paul Haugen and I am the Music Director at Clovis Hills Community Church. This is me; no pretense, no show, just who I am, quirks and all. This is the Open Door.
