Father’s Day is coming up and we’re celebrating all things manly. Kimberly might be having too much fun with this!
Who’s this little bundle of joy? Meet the newest Haugen, my niece (let’s not get crazy here), Elise.
She’s pretty stinkin’ cute isn’t she?
Mom, baby and even daddy are doing great. We’re babysitting next week. Either this is going to make my wife baby crazy or it’ll be the greatest form of birth control ever.
Here’s hopin!
So the other day, Jenn and I were making turkey burgers and fries. Not too shabby of a dinner if I do say so myself. I had the burgers on the grill, just about ready to come off when I went to the oven to pull out the fries.
I put on my trusty oven mitt, opened the door, grabbed the pan and when I pulled the pan up, it hit the lip of the oven and my reaction made me brush my arm against the pan.
Initially it didn’t hurt too much, but you can see that it left quite a mark.
Yeah, it hurts now.
Last night, I heard the news that Maria Chapman, the 5 year old daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman had died in an accident. My initial impact, of course was sadness for their family, but I must confess, that I rather quickly went back to my life.
Today, however, the reality of this has sunken in a bit more as I have read the blogs and news stories. Steven is, in many ways, the most successful Christian artist of all time and his music and ministry have blessed so many around the world. Now, he and his family are grieving.
There is a blog you can check out to leave condolances and see video of Maria. We recently finished a series here at Clovis Hills called Disapointed with God and I can’t help but think that the Chapman’s must be there right now. Please pray for them, that not only would they be able to grieve and process all of this, but that in the midst of this terrible situation, that they would see the face of God all the more.
Check out the blog here.
Last week, we went into the studio and finished the song. Our Engineer/co-producer was Joel Piper and he was awesome! Because of injuries and scheduling, Joel ended up laying down drums, bass and the leads. He was great to work with and I’m excited to work with him again.
I went in by myself all day Tuesday and laid down the acoustic and then we worked out the bass and drums parts. Jill and Tim came in on Wednesday and did the vocals and strings.
The song turned out great! I’ll post it here once I have a final mix down.
Okay, the title of this post may be a little extreme, but I begged to be written.
Since my “friend,” Micah, threw me under the bus by posting this on his blog, I figured I should post it here before any of our shared readers used it against me. So here we go, I’ll admit it.
Hi. My name is Paul and I was in a boy band.
We were called “One Way” (man that’s lame) and we were together for a couple of years. I like to think of us as a vocal group rather than a boy band, but that’s mostly because it’s a little embarrassing. Micah has some pictures posted on his site so I won’t repost them here, but I will do him one better. I give the original 5 members of One Way in all our glory.
Just in case you were thinking it might be funny to call that number and try and book us, the number is out of service.
Ever wonder what happens before the service starts on Saturday?
Well I’m gonna show you anyway!
This is the last night at Dana’s project studio.
Jill and Tim came in and threw down some Backing vocals and Keys/strings.
Enjoy!
I totally ripped this off from Aron, but I think after my capo mishap of a few months ago, I deserve to feature someone else screwing up.
At least I wasn’t wearing the sparkles when I messed up, and once I stopped I got back on. She stops three times and still doesn’t get it right!
Awesome!
