Can cats and dogs get along?

I recently wrote about this cat that has found himself a home (a temporary home) on our porch. “Scardy Cat” or “Skurd” for short has been mooching off of us for a week now and so we thought it was time to introduce him to Micah and Eirca’s house, and more so, their dog Cooper.
Cooper, according to their vet, should be pretty good with cats, and since Skurd is pretty mellow, we thought maybe they’d get along. They didn’t.
Wow, we are easily entertained!

It just takes time. They would learn to love each other eventually. It took us a few weeks before we even introduced our two cats to each other. Then they fought it out for a couple more. You guys should just keep it though.
