rock the horn & mexico family - just go
Happy Easter! Indeed He is risen…ain’t it grand! I went to an Easter sunrise service this morning and it was awesome! I have not been to one in quite a while and for those of you who know me - you know I don’t do early mornings! The “nugget” I took home from the message was that Jesus is not done with us yet…he is still working on each one of us! Then I went to Clovis Hills and the worship was awesome…over 100 either rededicated their lives or accepted Jesus for the first time. God is good!
I have been “GOing” a lot as of late…and I hope to continue! Hence part of the reason for not keeping up with my blog. Truthfully that’s only part of the reason because it has to be a very conscious act on my part to remember and follow through on writing in my blog. Another reason is that the art of blogging is not a natural thing for me. I would rather have a conversation with someone in person. However, the reality of our culture is that we don’t have the ongoing opportunities to have one on one conversations with any sense of regularity. Or more accurately, it’s not a priority we hold very high and on a personal note, I’m making it a goal to have more personal conversations. However, the blog is a “creature” of our modern day culture so I’m embracing. Once I get started though it sometimes is hard for me to stop! So in reality the actual writing in the blog is not the challenge but the act of bringing it to my consciousness is the “barrier”.
In January I went to Africa with the worship team from Clovis Hills and it was amazing on so many levels! Paul, the music director at Clovis Hills and Dana, rockstar drummer, have blogged quite a bit about their experience so go check it out…it’s great stuff. I echo their thoughts. It was truly amazing for me to reconnect with Mica - she is an awesome disciple of Jesus and when I grow up - I want to be just like her!
On Good Friday the Mexico mission team returned home and once again a house is built for a Mexican family in need! This is our 7th trip to Mexico and if my count is correct we have built 9 houses total! 6 families represented Clovis Hills made up the team to share about Jesus. New friendships were formed and many seeds planted in Mexico and in our lives as well. God is doing some great stuff!
Okay, so I could go on writing but I won’t..you’ll just have to check in from time to time to read the latest posts.
Just Go!
